Knebworth House, which is situated very near to the modern town of Stevenage, has been the home of the Lytton family sinc 1940; it was originally a red-brick Late Gothic manor house but in the early 19th century the house was re-modelled in the Tudor Gothic style and later transformed by Henry Edward Kendall Jr into its present Tudor Gothic structure.
