Broxbourne is a bustling town just north of the M25, which makes it a popular location for London commuters. For conference organisers the town has excellent transport links with a direct train service to and from London Liverpool Street which takes just 30 minutes; the road connections are equally good the A10 (London to Cambridge road) is minutes away as is the M25 (Junction 25).
Part of the Borough of Broxbourne, a local government district, Broxbourne is partnered with neighbouring towns Cheshunt, Hoddesdon and Waltham Cross. The 26-mile Lee Valley Regional Park runs through Broxbourne, providing lush green spaces for residents to visit and enjoy a sense of countryside in this busy little town.
London 2012 put Broxbourne on the world map as the nearby Lee Valley White Water Rafting centre hosted many events where world records were set as well as Olympic medals won; the centre is now open year round and has its own corporate events programme and conference facilities.
Broxbourne is also home to Paradise Wildlife Park, formerly Broxbourne Zoo, this family-run business, which has meeting facilities for up to 300 delegates, is committed to conservation and offers a wide choice of packages which can be tailor-made for conference and meeting organisers.
Delegates with last-minute shopping needs can be catered for at the nearby Brookfield Centre, just off the A10, which includes a 24-hour Tesco Extra store, plus long opening hours are offered at the M&S and the many national retail chains represented.
Situated to the west of the town, Broxbourne Woods are a 239.1h National Nature Reserve (NNR) – the only one of its kind in Hertfordshire, providing peaceful and scenic walks country walks close to an urban setting; walks include a sculpture walk where the majority of sculptures were made by local artist. Broxbourne’s Hertfordshire Golf & Country set in beautiful lush, green grounds offers golf days and spa days.
